Carl J. Wenning is coordinator of the Physics Teacher Education program at Illinois State University where he has been teaching since 1978. He teaches six university courses in physics pedagogy, and supervises student teaching. He serves as advisor to all undergraduate majors in the physics teaching sequence. Mr. Wenning also serves as advisor to students enrolled in the C&I Master's Degree program whose concentration is physics teacher preparation. He is actively involved in the professional development of high school physics teachers. Wenning currently directs the nationally-acclaimed Modeling Method of Physics Instruction workshop at ISU, and works with Physics Teaching Resource Agents (Rural PTRA) across Illinois. He is Secretary/Treasurer of the Illinois Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers, and editor-in-chief of Journal of Physics Teacher Education Online -- an emerging publication.
