Editorial Policies

A paper will be considered for publication on the condition that it has been submitted only to Journal of Physics Teacher Education Online and has not been published or accepted for publication elsewhere. The principal criterion for the acceptance of a manuscript will be that in the opinion of the editors, it contributes to strengthening of physics teacher candidate preparation at the high school or middle school levels.

Receipt of a manuscript will be acknowledged by the editor in chief promptly. Manuscripts failing to abide by the guidelines given here, however, will be returned. All articles submitted for publication will be peer reviewed by two or three reviewers; recommendations for significant changes will be sent to the author as soon as they become available. Editors reserve the right to edit manuscripts to make minor changes. Substantial alterations will not be made without the permission of the author.

The minimum time between the submission and publication of an acceptable manuscript will ordinarily be two to four months, but could be longer depending on a variety of factors. There is no page charge to authors.

Detailed guidelines for contributions can be found under "Contributions" in the table above.

A set of Reviewer Guidelines is now available for use by authors as a self-check on the suitability of a manuscript for publication.
